Call for Challenges is Closed! Thank you very much for your interest. Proposed challenges are currently being evaluated.

Call for Solutions from Europe for the selected challenges will be launched on August 17.

Call For Challenges from Brazil

ENRICH in Brazil is calling for Brazilian non-for-profit public/civil organisations and public companies (the so-called challenge owners) in need of innovative solutions to COVID related challenges in the areas of Tourism & Leisure, Digitalization, and Sustainable Development. However, challenges in other areas will also be accepted.

The objective of the Innovation Challenge is to assist those non-profit organizations/companies that already have very scarce resources and offer them a unique service, scouting for innovative and tailored solutions to overcome their specific challenges.

ENRICH in Brazil will select three challenges and then act as an intermediary platform to bring the challenge owners to meet potential solution providers from Europe through a separate call for Solutions!

Why should organizations and companies open up their challenges and problems to outsiders?

Getting innovative solutions from external sources to give companies new perspectives and out-of-the-box ideas for specific problems. This method helps them overcome limitations in their own thinking, which often leads to better innovations. By interacting with people from diverse countries, backgrounds, and disciplines, companies and organisations get access to a wide range of different knowledge bases. Besides, the challenges that the COVID-19 has put forward all around the world can be similar, and the solutions can be transferable.

What type of solutions can be addressed?

The solution that you look for your specific challenge should be an already existing product, service, business model, technology, or process. This Call does not consider challenges that require solutions at the “idea” stage.

The role of the ENRICH in Brazil

Enrich in Brazil will act as an intermediary platform to bring the challenge owners and solution providers together, coordinate the process, offer a prize to the solution providers, and kickstarting a longer-term collaboration between both sides.

Eligibility Criteria*:

  • You are a non-profit organization or non-profit company from public or civil sector, legally established in Brazil;
  • Your business area is one of the following: education, science, technology, innovation, business support
  • You are not related to ENRICH in Brazil, e.g., as Associate or to the CEBRABIC partners;
  • You commit to assess possible sustainability options for the selected solution;
  • You appoint a dedicated “challenge manager” for coordination, who is proficient in English.

*If you are a for-profit Brazilian company, but facing similar challenges in above mentioned areas due to the COVID-19 pandemic, please contact us via brazil@enrichcentres.eu

Evaluation Criteria:

  • Your Challenge describes a particular issue to be solved related to the situation caused by COVID-19 (i.e., for funding agencies: how to improve the efficiency of the application process for the support measures during the Corona crisis). Complex problems that involve many aspects and interaction points cannot be understood and solved through such challenges;
  • The problem should be defined as a challenge, in a widely understandable way with short background information. (Solution may come from any sector or technology!).
  • The organisation commits to assess sustainability models for the selected solution.

Need Help?  We have six experienced mentors from Brazil and Europe who can support you with their “outsider” perspective to describe your challenge clearly and understandably. Get in contact with them directly if you think you need some support in the formulation. Please note that these mentors are not supposed to write your challenges on your behalf. Their role is to provide comments and recommendations about the formulation process:

Please read Call Guidelines for more information.

Moreover, a webinar will take place on the 17th of June 2020 at 15:00 pm (CET) where details of the Call will be explained.
