Chilean-German joint R&D projects Matchmaking

The matchmaking platform helps Chilean companies and German SMEs connect, share project ideas, and find suitable partners.

The matchmaking is open until 31th March, 2026. After you have registered, you can request and setup online meetings with potential partners at any time during the period.

Registration is free of charge.

Only organisations eligible and planning to apply for funding are accepted to the matchmaking. In Germany, companies and Research Institutions which are eligible for ZIM can register. In Chile companies which are eligible for the “Crea y Valida – ZIM” funding line can participate at the matchmaking. The registration will be approved by the organisers. Description of organisation and what you are looking for or what you offer for the potential project partners are required before approval.

3. Chilean-German cooperation Call for Proposals for joint R&D projects by SMEs

Corfo and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy are looking for innovative market-oriented joint R&D projects between companies in Chile and small and medium-sized enterprises in Germany.

Deadline for proposal submissions: June 30, 2025

Funding will be available for R&D projects in which new products, technical services or processes with a high market potential are developed and subsequently transformed into marketable products. The consortium must include at least one Chilean and one German commercial company.

Who can apply for the funding?

Chile:

  • Companies based in Chile. Eligibility funding criteria according to Corfo’s funding programme “Crea y Valida - ZIM” apply.
  • Chilean funding agency, Corfo, has an open budget for this call for projects.
  • Participants from Chile can receive a matching grant of up to 220 million Chilean pesos per project. The percentage of eligible project costs that can be funded depends on the type of organisation:
  • Type of organisation Amount of funding available
  • Small-sized companies Up to 80% of eligible project costs
  • Medium-sized companies Up to 60% of eligible project costs
  • Large companies Up to 40% of eligible project costs
  • Research organisations or universities Not eligible to receive funding directly from Corfo, but may participate as project collaborators.
  • An extra 10% of funding is available for female-led companies.
  • Firms must be at least 24 months old at the time of submitting its application.

Germany:

  • German SMEs and medium-sized companies with less than 500 employees (full-time equivalents)
  • Medium-sized companies with less than 1,000 employees are eligible if they cooperate with at least one SME
  • Research and technology organizations can apply as cooperation partners
