EU-LAC Innovation Cooperation: Connecting Start-ups Across Four Thematic Challenges 

As part of the EU-LAC Innovation Cooperation Network, incubators and accelerators from Europe and LAC collaborate to exchange knowledge, build partnerships, and promote thematic matches between start-ups. This cooperation expands opportunities for entrepreneurs to access markets, technologies, funding, and investors. Within the network, incubators and accelerators act as multipliers by supporting international scale-up and serving as soft-landing hubs with the support of ENRICH in LAC.

Thematic start-up matches: Four areas of cooperation

The network organises start-up matches across four thematic areas. Each area brings together start-ups working on shared challenges, supported by incubators and accelerators that help them grow through cross-regional collaboration.

Green
Start-ups developing solutions in renewable energy, circular economy, green mobility, carbon capture, waste reduction, and other fields driving the green transition.

Digital
Start-ups building technology-based solutions across industries, such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, fintech, cybersecurity, and connectivity infrastructure.

Healthcare
Start-ups advancing digital health, medical devices, biotech, mental health, and health systems innovation.

Agriculture & Food
Start-ups innovating in precision farming, agri-biotech, soil health, food traceability, alternative proteins, and sustainable food production.

By participating, start-ups can connect with peers from the other region, co-develop solutions, and explore joint initiatives. Incubators and accelerators provide targeted support, facilitate access to local ecosystems, and help link start-ups to international partners and funding sources.

Your role as incubator or accelerator

By joining the EU-LAC Innovation Cooperation network, your organisation can:

• Establish bilateral partnerships with incubators and accelerators from the other region.
• Support start-ups in accessing international markets and funding opportunities.
• Participate in in-person networking events in both regions.
• Contribute to a community that is shaping solutions to global challenges through innovation.
