35-Brazil-Sweden: Joint call supporting international innovation projects (EMBRAPII & Vinnova)
The Brazilian Agency for Industrial Research and Innovation (EMBRAPII) and Vinnova, a Swedish organization, are collaborating to facilitate joint research and innovation projects between Brazilian and Swedish companies. This partnership aims to promote knowledge and technology exchange, enhancing the competitiveness of both countries. The areas of focus for these projects include health, mining, bio-economy, and sustainable cities. Eligible participants on the Swedish side include companies, research organizations (universities, colleges, research institutes), and municipalities. On the Brazilian side, Embrapii institutes and companies are eligible.
Swedish projects can receive up to SEK 3 million in funding, with a total budget of SEK 24 million for this call, supporting 8-10 innovation projects. Brazilian applicants must contribute at least ⅓ of the project's total costs in financial resources and can receive up to 50% of non-refundable resources, depending on the type of financing.
Priority areas for these projects include health-related solutions, eco-efficient mining processes, sustainable bioeconomy practices, and innovative solutions for sustainable cities. 34-Call for Support in the Exploitation of Results
ENRICH in LAC's Call for Support in the Exploitation of Results to provide a free-of-charge service for Horizon 2020 (H2020) and/or Horizon Europe (HEU) projects with geographical scope in Europe and/or LAC that need assistance in developing the exploitation of their project’s results (limited vacancies).
The scope of this call focus on research and innovation (R&I) projects in sustainable urbanization, bioeconomy, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) or Digitalization/Industry 4.0, through High-Performance Computing (HPC) deployment, and in Renewable Energy.
- Selected projects will be granted the opportunity of:
- One comprehensive online workshop
- One-on-one mentoring session, ensuring individualized attention.

Funding will be given to collaborative business projects of technological development and innovation aimed at the development of ready-to-market solutions or projects with a strong market potential for Argentina and Spain.

32- Brazil (FAPESP) SPRINT Call
Seed funding to support the exchange of researchers.
There are two possibilities for the International Collaboration Proposal:
• Partner researchers from any foreign research institution which provides travel resources from their university or grants awarded by a research funding agency (see item 2.1 below);
• Foreign research institutions that have confirmed conditions for receiving collaboration proposals with funding for scientific missions to research institutions in São Paulo State (see item 2.2 below).

29-1st German-Chilean Call for Proposals for joint R&D Projects by Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs)
Corfo and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK)
intend to support joint German-Chilean research and development projects (R&D projects)
in order to develop innovative products, processes or technical services from all technology
and application areas. Funding will be available for R&D projects in which new products,
technical services or processes will in subsequent steps generate sustainable solutions with
high market potential.
The call invites partners to present joint proposals for R&D projects until September 15th 2023 according to the following procedures used by Innova Chile and ZIM, specified in the respective guidelines of both funding programmes (“Innova Chile” in Chile and “ZIM” in Germany).

26-ANID (Chile) –DFG (Germany) Call for Application for Joint Research Projects
Within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation) and the National Agency for Research and Development, ANID, of Chile, a joint call for German-Chilean research projects is launched.
The present scientific and technological cooperation between ANID and the main autonomous organization that finances research in Germany, DFG, is based on the Cooperation Agreement, signed on October 28, 2002, through which the parties involved undertake to develop and strengthen their cooperation in the fields of science and technology.

25-EUREKA Global Stars Call with Brazil ( São Paulo)
The national funding bodies from Sweden, Spain and Germany and the regional research funding body the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) from the state of São Paulo, Brazil, have allocated funding for organisations collaborating on international R&D projects in the fields of smart cities and healthcare, with AI as enabling technology, and industry 4.0.

24-Joint call for Chilean-German research projects in the area of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology and Astronomy and Astrophysics
Within the scope of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation) and the Chilean Agencia Nacional de Investigación y Desarrollo (ANID), a joint call for German-Chilean research projects is launched.
Eligibility: Funding is available for bilateral collaborative research projects comprising researchers from Germany and Chile. Within a research project, contributions from Germany and Chile should be balanced with regard to the scientific contents. Applicants are required to fulfil any national requirements for funding and follow the general regulations of their respective funding organisation (see below). Proposals that do not meet these requirements will not be considered.

22-The Call for Proposals of " Bioeconomy International 2022"
The aim of this program is to fund German partners (universities, research organisations and industry) in international consortia. A key requirement of this program is that the projects have to be at eye level. This means that partners from abroad are working equally in cooperation with German partners. All partners should bring their expertise to solve a problem in joint efforts which is difficult (or impossible) to be solved alone.
Funding is provided to German applicants. This call contains only one general module without co-funding for the international partners. Hence, cooperationwith all countries beyond Europe are eligible, but the international partnershave to bring their own funds.

15-Portuguese Space Agency supports Internationalization of European SMEs towards Brazil
The Portuguese Space Agency (Portugal Space) together with the AIR Centre is opening the second out of four calls to promote the internationalization of European SMEs developing Copernicus-based products.
This call targets European SMEs that use Copernicus and are looking to expand their business to Brazil. A total of 10 SMEs will be selected to participate in a presential event in Rio de Janeiro that will take place on the 29th and 30th of March 2022. The Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and Anprotec are the local partners for this event.
Furthermore, this event will happen along with a major Eureka event organized by the AIR Centre in Rio de Janeiro as part of the Portuguese Chairmanship of the world’s biggest network for cooperation in R&D.

12-Joint transnational call on "Prevention in Personalised Medicine"
This call is launched by the ERA PerMed on December 1, which is an ERA-NET Cofund, supported by 32 partners of 23 countries and co-funded by the European Commission (EC).
Scope of the Call
The JTC2022 is constructed around the following three research areas in order to ensure the development of specific PM approaches considering the major aspects needed for their successful implementation in the health systems: (1) “Translating Basic to Clinical Research and Beyond”, (2) “Data and Information and Communication Technology (ICT)” and (3) “Responsible and Effective Implementation in Healthcare”.

10-Biodiversa+ 2021-2022 joint Call for Transnational Research Proposals
Biodiversa+, the European Biodiversity Partnership, is pleased to announce that its 2021-2022 joint Call for Transnational Research Proposals on “Supporting biodiversity and ecosystem protection across land and sea” is now open.
This call aims to support transnational research projects (3-years duration) addressing one or more of the three (non-exclusive) themes below:
- THEME 1 – Knowledge for identifying priority conservation areas, establishing effective and resilient ecological networks, enhancing species-based protection and preserving genetic diversity
- THEME 2 – Multiple benefits and costs of biodiversity and ecosystem protection: synergies and trade-offs
- THEME 3 – Effective management and equitable governance to deliver bold conservation outcome
Projects combining aspects from several themes are encouraged. This call is focused on the protection of biodiversity in the wild. This does not, for example, include efforts for restoration of habitats and species, or ex-situ conservation.
The call covers all environments, i.e. terrestrial, freshwater and marine. It also covers research on biodiversity conservation in the Outermost Regions (ORs) and Overseas Countries and Territories (OCTs) of the EU.

9-Call for Proposal for joint R&D projects between Germany and Argentina
The Ministry of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation of Argentina and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) will provide access to public funding for joint projects provided by ANPCyT in Argentina and by BMWi’s ZIM programme (Central Innovation Programme for SMEs) in Germany.

7-Research and Innovation Challenge- Meet Sector Fund (Uruguay)
The National Research and Innovation Agency of Uruguay (ANII) and the National Institute of Meat of Uruguay (INAC) announce the opening of the Meat Sector Fund, in Challenge modality through which innovative solutions that generate a new intervention model for the Electronic Information System of the Meat Industry will be financed. The objective of this initiative is to support research and innovation projects that help optimize the electronic control of the industry in terms of slaughtering, deboning and meat marketing. They are looking for projects that provide a technological change based on open and modular models, low cost, and that allow the monitoring of processes.
Financing is granted for a maximum amount of UYU 4,500,000 per proposal, with a period of 6 to 9 months to build the prototype. Knowledge-generating individuals and legal entities from Uruguay or other countries, may apply individually or associated with other national (Uruguay) or foreign organizations such as companies, technology centers or public or private research institutes.

German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) targeting Brazil called "Bioeconomy International".
The initiative "Bioeconomy International" was developed under the German National Research Strategy Bioeconomy 2030, and will now be continued under the Federal Government's new Bioeconomy Strategy. The research funding under this strategy is divided into six building blocks, of which the first building block "Biological knowledge as the key to the bioeconomy" is particularly relevant to this funding initiative.

Portuguese Space Agency supports Internationalization of European SMEs towards Brazil
The Portuguese Space Agency (Portugal Space) together with the AIR Centre is opening the second out of four calls to promote the internationalization of European SMEs developing Copernicus-based products.
This call targets European SMEs that use Copernicus and are looking to expand their business to Brazil. A total of 10 SMEs will be selected to participate in a presential event in Rio de Janeiro that will take place on the 29th and 30th of March 2022. The Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and Anprotec are the local partners for this event.
Furthermore, this event will happen along with a major Eureka event organized by the AIR Centre in Rio de Janeiro as part of the Portuguese Chairmanship of the world’s biggest network for cooperation in R&D.

Joint transnational call on "Prevention in Personalised Medicine"
This call is launched by the ERA PerMed on December 1, which is an ERA-NET Cofund, supported by 32 partners of 23 countries and co-funded by the European Commission (EC).
Scope of the Call

Biodiversa+, the European Biodiversity Partnership, is pleased to announce that its 2021-2022 joint Call for Transnational Research Proposals on “Supporting biodiversity and ecosystem protection across land and sea” is now open.
This call aims to support transnational research projects (3-years duration) addressing one or more of the three (non-exclusive) themes below:

The National Research and Innovation Agency of Uruguay (ANII) and the National Institute of Meat of Uruguay (INAC) announce the opening of the Meat Sector Fund, in Challenge modality through which innovative solutions that generate a new intervention model for the Electronic Information System of the Meat Industry will be financed. Portuguese Space Agency supports Internationalization of European SMEs towards Brazil
The Portuguese Space Agency (Portugal Space) together with the AIR Centre is opening the second out of four calls to promote the internationalization of European SMEs developing Copernicus-based products.
This call targets European SMEs that use Copernicus and are looking to expand their business to Brazil. A total of 10 SMEs will be selected to participate in a presential event in Rio de Janeiro that will take place on the 29th and 30th of March 2022. The Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and Anprotec are the local partners for this event.
Furthermore, this event will happen along with a major Eureka event organized by the AIR Centre in Rio de Janeiro as part of the Portuguese Chairmanship of the world’s biggest network for cooperation in R&D.

Joint transnational call on "Prevention in Personalised Medicine"
This call is launched by the ERA PerMed on December 1, which is an ERA-NET Cofund, supported by 32 partners of 23 countries and co-funded by the European Commission (EC).
Scope of the Call
The JTC2022 is constructed around the following three research areas in order to ensure the development of specific PM approaches considering the major aspects needed for their successful implementation in the health systems: (1) “Translating Basic to Clinical Research and Beyond”, (2) “Data and Information and Communication Technology (ICT)” and (3) “Responsible and Effective Implementation in Healthcare”.

Joint call for Brazilian-German research projects in the field of Industry 4.0, Advanced Digitalisation
Within the scope of their Cooperation Agreement, the Brazilian Federal Agency for Support and Evaluation of Graduate Education (CAPES) and the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation) are glad to announce a joint call for German-Brazilian research projects in the field of Manufacturing Engineering, especially Industry 4.0, Advanced Digitalisation. The researchers of the funded bilateral projects in each discipline may collaborate by means of workshops, meetings or other collaborative activities.

Biodiversa+ 2021-2022 joint Call for Transnational Research Proposals
Biodiversa+, the European Biodiversity Partnership, is pleased to announce that its 2021-2022 joint Call for Transnational Research Proposals on “Supporting biodiversity and ecosystem protection across land and sea” is now open.
This call aims to support transnational research projects (3-years duration) addressing one or more of the three (non-exclusive) themes below:
- THEME 1 – Knowledge for identifying priority conservation areas, establishing effective and resilient ecological networks, enhancing species-based protection and preserving genetic diversity
- THEME 2 – Multiple benefits and costs of biodiversity and ecosystem protection: synergies and trade-offs
- THEME 3 – Effective management and equitable governance to deliver bold conservation outcome
Projects combining aspects from several themes are encouraged. This call is focused on the protection of biodiversity in the wild. This does not, for example, include efforts for restoration of habitats and species, or ex-situ conservation.
The call covers all environments, i.e. terrestrial, freshwater and marine. It also covers research on biodiversity conservation in the Outermost Regions (ORs) and Overseas Countries and Territories (OCTs) of the EU.
45 Funding Organisations from 33 countries are joining this call and have reserved – together with the European Commission – a total amount of over 40M€:

Call for Proposal for joint R&D projects between Germany and Argentina
The Ministry of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation of Argentina and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) will provide access to public funding for joint projects provided by ANPCyT in Argentina and by BMWi’s ZIM programme (Central Innovation Programme for SMEs) in Germany.
Deadline: 26 November 2021
Projects should focus on developing innovative products, processes, or technology-based services in all technological and application areas which have strong market potential.
It is highly recommended that each interested partner (companies and research institutes) contact their local funding agency before starting to fill in a project application (in Germany:AIF Projekt GMBH project management agency for BMWI).

Research and Innovation Challenge- Meet Sector Fund (Uruguay)
The National Research and Innovation Agency of Uruguay (ANII) and the National Institute of Meat of Uruguay (INAC) announce the opening of the Meat Sector Fund, in Challenge modality through which innovative solutions that generate a new intervention model for the Electronic Information System of the Meat Industry will be financed. The objective of this initiative is to support research and innovation projects that help optimize the electronic control of the industry in terms of slaughtering, deboning and meat marketing. They are looking for projects that provide a technological change based on open and modular models, low cost, and that allow the monitoring of processes.
Financing is granted for a maximum amount of UYU 4,500,000 per proposal, with a period of 6 to 9 months to build the prototype. Knowledge-generating individuals and legal entities from Uruguay or other countries, may apply individually or associated with other national (Uruguay) or foreign organizations such as companies, technology centers or public or private research institutes.

German-Brazil Call on Bioeconomy / CLOSED on 19 March 2021

German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) targeting Brazil called "Bioeconomy International".
The initiative "Bioeconomy International" was developed under the German National Research Strategy Bioeconomy 2030, and will now be continued under the Federal Government's new Bioeconomy Strategy. The research funding under this strategy is divided into six building blocks, of which the first building block "Biological knowledge as the key to the bioeconomy" is particularly relevant to this funding initiative.
Projects in the frame of "Bioeconomy International" shall significantly contribute to implement the Bioeconomy on a global level.
In Brazil, FINEP (Financiadora de estudos e projetos) carries out a parallel call for tenders. The Brazilian applicants are obliged to submit their application with identical content in Brazil.
